Specific for my situation
Post Body

Hello everyone!

Just to give some intro for context, I have never been in the army in my country in any regiment or specialization. My family comes from a military background however different eras. My great great grandfather WW1, grandfather WW2 and my father with the draft.

I am 32 years old now and have done everything else in life. However, I have always been drawn to joining the military in my country. Due to following a different path, I did everything else, but I am now considered too old to join in my country. The other two options I am considering are naturalization in the US or joining the FFL. I have always had a peculiar relationship with my body. Despite not being fat, I weigh 50kg, which means I am underweight for my height, but not anorexic. I can run and walk, but because of my weight, I never tried to join. I wanted to join last August, but after reading about the weight requirements, I never tried. I messaged the FFL on Facebook using a fake account to ask some questions, and I also contacted someone from my country who provided me with a lot of useful information. They told me that my weight doesn't matter, so I wanted to ask for confirmation if this was true. In terms of my physical information, I don't drink and never took drugs. Another thing I wanted to ask about is that I saw some "relatively" old videos about the selection process of the FFL, and the first part shows people doing pull-ups. I will explain later why I asked this.

I would like to ask anyone who has been in a similar situation regarding body shape before joining the FFL, how did you improve your physical condition before joining? Did you join as you were, or did you have to make specific changes? I have spoken to someone in the FFL who told me that body shape doesn't matter, but I have started going to the gym since last year. However, due to financial constraints, I have been focusing on push-ups (10/15, sometimes 20 every 10 minutes) since January this year. I am unable to do pull-ups at all. My question is, if I continue exercising, will I be able to meet the selection requirements by August this year? I found useful information on the minimum requirements in a Reddit post, which is what I aim to achieve:

In regards to the link above I did read that min is 100 pushups is that something one has to do at once at some point in the selection process? Or just being able to do them at intervals? The part of the 10 pullups as minimum is that the 1st thing they ask you do as soon as you are there? The reason why I asked this is because I did see several videos every year about the selection process of the FFL however the latest one I saw is this one which they don't show that so I don't know if is skipped or if it changed something:

Is the minimum of 100 push-ups something one has to do at once during the selection process, or just being able to do them at intervals? Is doing 10 pull-ups as a minimum the first thing they ask you to do? The reason I ask is because I have seen several videos each year about the FFL selection process, but the latest one I saw doesn't show that, so I don't know whether it's skipped or if something changed.

Thank you for anyone that will kindly answer and sorry for the long post but had to explain everything to have a better response.
