Bonjour. ChatGPT suggested that a common, natural, and polite way of saying this would be:
« Bonjour, je viens récupérer ma commande, s’il vous plaît. »
I pointed out that the app I put the order on (Boulanger, in this case) uses retirer rather than récupérer. ChatGPT responded that retirer might be a little more formal but « Bonjour, je viens retirer ma commande, s’il vous plaît. » is equally common and natural-sounding.
Last I asked what if I said « J'ai une commande à retirer, s’il vous plaît. » » It said that's another correct and natural way of putting it.
I ended up just saying bonjour while showing the lady my barcode and murmuring «J'ai une commande... » and she was like say no more fam... But is ChatGPT correct that these sentences all communicate the same meaning, sound natural, and are commonly used?
