I work for both a small carrier and a large broker and I must say, there should be an industry wide movement to boycott these two giants if there is any chance at better business.
For example. I get to see both sides of the coin. I won't disclose who I work for, but their one of the largest companies in freight today. Their plan is to cover loads for cost or even a small loss to increase market share. They figure they can take losses for longer than most and bankrupt the smaller companies. Once there is limited competition, they will control the prices and jack up the rates on their customers. Problem is, if you're not an industry giant, you won't survive.
Working independently for the small carrier I work for, I can personally attest that TQL and CH are paying less than operational cost. They're intentionally taking losses to control the market in the long run. The large broker I work for can't even afford their overhead and are in the red, possibly the black.
What if there was a way unite against TQL and CH industry wide. The way to do it is to pay the carriers more and somehow convince the carriers to boycott CH and TQL altogether. How can we achieve this? Thoughts?
