I'm going through a bit of an existential crisis regarding the job of being a freight broker. I think brokers in other industries (stock, mortgage, insurance, and especially healthcare) are scam artists that just skim off the top to take their percentage, acting as "middlemen" while navigating areas that the layman could probably navigate themselves with a little bit of education and determination. My mind won't be changed about other industries, but how are we different? Do you ever feel like you're just not really utilizing, or maybe haven't actually gained, any viable skills working in this industry? Does anyone feel a little grimey about it? Do you feel like your job actually adds value?
