Maintaining Journal Notes while using Compendiums

Does anyone have any idea why my Journal Notes are unlinking when I send the relevant journal to a compendium and import it back in?
I have "Keep Document ID's" Checked, yet all the pins on my map refuse to link back up after pulling the journals back out of the compendium.
It's very frustrating!
