Text through Fog [D&D5e]

Text from drawings can be seen through fog of war. This kinda sucks as I use it to label objects as I often draw stuff on maps to symbolize objects, is there anything I can do so players can only see text if it's in their vision?
I see little use for text that's always visible no matter if it's in vision for players. It's doubly bizzarre to me, as this is not the case for the drawings themselves. Can anybody help me here?
