Hey everyone, I have recently become a first time foster for this rescue in my area. The only thing is, the lady who runs it only allows you to feed the animals you are fostering a raw diet and will only allow someone to adopt the animal if they will continue feeding raw. She provides all the food to you so itโs not an issue of cost but everything I have read online from reputable sources advises against raw diets. The kittens I am fostering since Iโve been feeding them act ravenous all day and fight each other over the food. She is very stuck in this opinion that raw is best and also sells it at her store. I guess I am wondering if this is misguided? Or advice idk? I want to keep fostering but not if I am hurting the animals. Thanks in advance for any opinions.
I've been told that CBD is well researched and regarded in Vet med, for dogs at least. It was even recommended to me for my cat's seizures from a Vet who used to be the head of our States veterinary medicine board.
There are approved CBD oils for oral administration available for purchase.
Hello, I'm not sure why my post corrected to anxiety, my cat was recommended CBD for seizures, which Cornell recognizes as one of its indicated uses (at least in dogs; seizures are poorly understood in cats)
Studies have been done and are being done that do rely on laboratory results, and as you said, as it is generally safe, I don't see why recommending it as an addition to other medications should be an issue barring specific contraindications.
Cornell has a decent overview of their current stance which seems cautiously optimistic.

Yeah, I'm in NV and they sometimes recommend ElleVet for dogs and cats with seizures.
