Quick rundown of how to place traps
Post Body

I see so many people placing traps willy nilly when they could be so much better.

A quick rundown of the most used traps:

- broadside - works best when there is a wall facing it 1-2 (sometimes 3) tiles away. The cannonballs will bounce back and forth dealing massive damage. If there is no way to put a wall close by I would not use them.

- wall dart - a better long ranged wall trap. Shoots far and straight dealing good damage. This can also shoot through edited cones/ramps, half walls and even a windowed wall. This is usally used as a block-off or to place another type of trap in front of it

- wall dynamo - good to use on half walls so either the broadsides or wall darts can shoot with it. Doesn't have as much range

- sound wall - best for propane husks to prevent them from throwing/exploding stuff. Makes them dance.

- wall spikes - with the right perks these can either heal your walls, add wall health, or simply damage husks that are attacking the wall it's on.

- floor spikes - good damage and keeps husks moving. They don't want to stand on top of it for long.

- tire/ceiling drop traps - delays husks movements. This is best used at least 2 (preferably 3) tiles high. The higher you place these the more the tires bounce and disrupt the husks. Also if propanes explode the traps put high will survive while traps put 1 tile high may break.

- ceiling electric field - similar to tire traps as they should be placed at least 2 tiles high. They can kill husks diagonally too.

- floor freeze/tar pit - used to completely stop husks, especially smashers. Good for putting around critical structures to stop a charging smasher for one last chance to kill it.

This is a really simplified list and not all traps are on here. I just wanted to clarify the ones I see being used incorrectly the most often.
