Help with improving!

I've been a fortnite player since season 1. I've played each season but took much time off after season 5. I'm back enjoying the game and i'm trying to go for 20 bombs. I can land quickly and get like 5 to 9 kills. After that running into teams and such is what im having a problem doing. Once i run into them im unable to build battle all of them. Is there a certain approach mid game to fighting squads. How should i be approaching it, are there any examples you guys have for me to see? Thanks alot!
