Where are the fish going!?

So I know since the start of the season your fish didn't count towards the collection at all but yesterday I noticed one of my friends had 7 fish in her collection so I started mine and logged off with like 15 or so, but now its not showing any of mine again but hers are still showing. Any ideas on why thats happening?
