I always assumed platforms faced users on the same platform by default, unless you were queueing with friends on different platforms, than you get thrown into cross-platform queue.
However, the other day, I had a game that seemed to go against these beliefs. I'm a Nintendo Switch player, and I queue'd up as Squad Fill going solo, getting randomly paired with three dudes. I asked these guys out of curiosity, and they were a queue'd trio, however were 2 Xbox players and one PS4 player. They seemed surprised that I played on Switch.
I always assumed I was playing against Switch players only, and that I was most likely in the easiest lobbies (outside of Mobile), since Nintendo probably has the youngest demographic and some players probably use the Switch itself to play instead of a using a gamepad like myself. However, maybe that's still the case, perhaps it's just that being in "Fill" on "Squads" put me in a cross-platform queue to give me the quickest match time.
When I play solo's, am I playing against just Switch players, or all console players? Hopefully all console players, since I've been worried I'm facing a lower-skill lobby.
