TL;DR I’m worried Epic is making a complex game too easy and dumbed down
I hope I’m not beating a dead horse by complaining, but after seeing what the Port-a-Fort does I’m worried that Epic is taking the game in the wrong direction, and for the wrong reasons.
We all know the issues with the game (gun glitches, lag) but I don’t see many people addressing how Epic is molding the game into one everyone can win. The game already has insane mass appeal, so I would guess these hand holding changes are to keep the young player, the new player, and the unskilled player in the game so that they keep their player base up.
It seems that these changes are having an opposite effect.
It is not like people are leaving the game in droves, but I see more and more veteran players complain about the game breaking bugs only to be met with game bloating items.
No one needs the vending machines. Guided missiles are removing the only skill barriers on an otherwise OP weapon. Now Port a Fort is literally completing a skill based task for players, requiring no skill of them at all.
It’s making the game more accessible, sure, but I feel like if Epic keeps adding changes like this it will start to turn away those that have loved BR since launch. Here’s to hoping that doesn’t happen.
