I just died because I couldn't shoot my shotgun that I landed first to pick up

Okay... This is getting really REALLY frustrating. This happens at least 65% of my games. I land. I pick up the gun first. Then get the shit whacked out of me by a pick axe while I frantically switch between my gun and my pickaxe trying to get it to appear in my hands. But THIS time. I land on top of the construction building in tilted towers, get the shotgun first. Try for 5 seconds to get my gun to pull out or shoot. Guy goes downstairs. I'm chasing frantically trying to pull my gun out, he picks up a tac. Turns around. Shoots me. Like. That is FRUSTRATING.
