Edit: I have bad hearing so going into this post don't just automatically write this off as "skill issue" as everyone has in the comments already with only reading one sentence.

I don't understand why Fortnite has to do this constantly, lately it doesn't matter what I use, if I don't have a full auto shotgun and a sniper I'm dying might as well go back to lobby, even when I do use it I get deleted with a green while I'm using a purple fully customized one. They are extremely inconsistent, feels like I have to be right up on someone to do damage yet enemies spam me from halfway down a mountain deleting in like 4 shots. ARs are almost useless, smgs are peashooters half the time, only way to counter is to see someone coming and snipe them before they get close enough, but lately there has been no visual sound effects symbols showing up even though I have them enabled, I don't have the best hearing so differentiating between mine or my teammates footsteps and shots from enemies is difficult and I get surprised by the doof and by the time I try to react I'm dead. Other people have probably said this but I've been taking a break and the first game I play after a while is some team rumble to warm up and while usually getting 10-18 kills I got 2, every time I landed was either death by doof, sniped, or anvil.

Edit: for those of you who are going to automatically point out green against purple as I said it's inconsistent you never know what is going to happen it's two walls of lead, either I get lucky and they get trapped in my wall of lead or they get lucky and I'm fucked, there is no consistency.
