How do people actually find others to play the game with?

How do you actually find friends to play the game with?

Every time I try to find people to enjoy the game with through in game mic chat or other methods, seems like it’s impossible when half the randoms never communicate or say anything and then they die literally every game and leave instantly or do a hot drop then leave after they realize they died when landing.

Can’t even use the Fortnite friend-finding subreddits since the moderators abandoned them (from what I was told) and no new posts are allowed anymore. So are there other ways to find people to enjoy the game with?
