UPDATE: Called the Humane Society today and they had gotten a call in about him this morning. He should be happily home now!

The sooner the better. I watched him get hit by a car, which is why I stopped. He seemed fine when I approached, and still seems fine, lots of energy, but he should still probably get checked out soon. I called the number on his tag multiple times and have left a message, but I'm honestly not sure the number goes to the owners, since there's also no name on the tag and the other number listed goes to the Humane Society. I'm hoping to avoid taking him there, since the owners would then have to pay a fee to get him back. I can't keep him passed the weekend though, so I will have to if I can't track them down.

Imgur for some reason isn't letting me upload my picture of him, but I will update when it does. For now, I would describe him as a large, 1-3 year old boxer/mastiff/maybe pit mix/mutt. Big blocky head, but pretty streamlined muscular body. He has a brown/golden coat, almost like light tiger stripe swirls. He is wearing a red KONG collar, and is very friendly and well behaved.
