BBC making it hard to watch in the UK

As a huge Formula E fan I find the BBC coverage to be terrible. I am sitting here now after race 8 and still can't access it on iPlayer. It also was not available live.
Fortunately I run a VPN on my router so could I watch on YouTube, but other friends in the UK don't have this setup. YouTube is currently blocked from the UK with these broadcasts.
They should just allow us in the UK to watch on YouTube or iPlayer, then they would see nobody would use iPlayer as YouTube is a far superior platform!
