The season of festivities are upon us. Soon buildings will glow and the sky will be decorated. New clothes will adorn strangers and flowers and sweets will fly off the shelves. The sound of firecrackers will steal at all attempts at conversation over the next few days. Some of us will see extended family, some with excitement and some with practiced reluctance.
I can imagine how the evening itself would go. Perhaps I'd be wearing new clothes with the gentle light of diyas having replaced the wide neon of tube lights in my house. The sound of festivity in the air. The feeling of something new and novel arriving.
These moments of festivity often make me want a deep new friendship. Share laughter and frolic with a mysterious stranger who soon graduates into being someone I've known for multiple lifetimes.
The conversation starts out with pleasantaries and outward introduction of our demographic information - the most rudimentary. The most formal. Gradually, the outer layers crack and a mild joke cuts across the mask and we're another layer deep. Common or different tastes in art are the usual social custom for making new acquaintances.Â
Soon, our conversation flows like a roaring river eliciting deep intellectual and emotional responses from both of us.Â
We're discussing prized memories and cherished fantasies of the future. Chalking out hypotheticals and admiring the other's world views. Pretty soon, we're suddenly bare and feeling a strong bond by virtue of what we've shared.Â
Voice is very important for me - at least voice messages if voice calls are not possible. I would like someone with whom I can bond deeply with and have heart to heart conversations. These conversations and our bond can take on romantic colours, but I am not looking for a romantic relationship in real life.
I'm not looking for a relationship as such. It would be great to have a long term friendship with someone whom I have amazing, heartfelt and genuine conversations. Maybe some of them could be romantic or flirty. I would certainly enjoy that.
