Post Body

Hello! Happy end of the year! Let's get into the post and see if we're a match!

What I'm looking for: I'm looking for a single man who is 28 or older, lives in the U.S, is open to a LDR and willing to close the gap eventually and meet face-to-face once it's safe to do so. Ideally my goal is to find something which will turn into a long-term relationship and eventually lead to marriage.

About me: I'm a college educated artist and a dog mom of one whose ultimate goal is happiness and fulfillment. I have goals, dreams, and ambitions, and I think it's important for you to have those, too. I've put my life on hold to be a caretaker for a toxic relative for a few years, now, and I'm ready to live my life for me. I'm working on making some positive changes and pursuing some personal ventures, and I'm ready to find someone who will care about me and want to be my partner.

To give you a better sense of who I am: I like to listen to music and dance around the kitchen while I bake. I celebrate my dog's birthday every year with homemade pupcakes and some fun new toys because she's my little girl and she deserves everything. Lately I've been helping her recover and relearn to walk after a freak accident which almost left her permanently paralyzed. I spend way too long in the shower daydreaming about things I'd like to do, or just enjoying a moment where I'm only accountable to myself and no one is asking anything of me at all. I like to create things by various means, whether that's working on a new painting, drawing in a traditional or digital medium, sewing new face masks or clothes, or trying a new recipe. Sometimes I sing terribly, but only while no one's around so they won't have to hear me! I'm the kind of girl who will come running to the door when you get home from work because I'm so happy to see you and can't wait to hold you again. I also really like to have regular voice chats once we're comfortable with each other, so it would be great if you're into that!

Who I'm looking for: I want a single man, preferably my age or older, who is also looking for someone to share his life with. Someone supportive, compassionate, and caring, who's perfectly happy and content being a dog dad. I want someone who will be sweet to me, and someone I can laugh with. I'm a firm believer that your significant other should be your best friend--not your only friend--but your best friend. I'm a very affectionate girl looking for a very affectionate man. I want to hold hands, snuggle into your arms as often as possible, and share both sweet and passionate kisses as we deem fit. I'd be very happy to cuddle most every night, feeling warm and safe with my significant other beside me, whether we're at home, or thousands of miles away on vacation somewhere. I want someone to have fun with, but also someone who I know is going to stay on the days when things aren't so easy. I also tend to scare easily so I think it would be nice to have someone who tends to be a bit protective (though not possessive). It's important to me to feel safe with my partner, and of course I want him to feel safe with me as well.

What I value in a relationship: Personally I think trust, honesty, and communication are all very vital aspects, as well as faithfulness and loyalty. Without the presence of these foundations, I don't think a healthy relationship is possible. I also think it's important to maintain an aspect of independence within a relationship. I want the relationship to add to my happiness, I don't expect it to be the sole source of it. That said, I do like to have me time where I can focus on other things that are important to me, like my personal projects and hobbies. It's fun to have things we can do together, but it's fun to have things we can do apart and then talk about later, too! Without getting into too much detail, I also want to add a quick note in here about sex. I'm not a casual relationship kind of girl. It takes a lot of trust for me to be able to open up to someone in that way, and be completely vulnerable in the way that sex requires. I really see it as an extension of the relationship—not just something you do, but a way to express your love for your partner. I don't want to just have sex, I want to make love and show my man how much I love him. The emotional connection is what's most valuable to me. That's an important distinction for me, so I wanted to put that out there.

The stale facts you still want to know:

  • I'm 28.
  • I'm single.
  • I have fair skin, blue eyes, full lips, and long, blonde wavy hair.
  • I'm 5'3, and usually weigh about 160 pounds, but I'm working off some quarantine weight (aren't we all?).
  • I'm originally from the Midwest, but currently live in the south, so no, I don't have an accent.
  • Politically left-leaning.
  • Non-religious.
  • Covid vaccinated (both doses, plus the booster shot).
  • I wear a mask over my nose and mouth in public.

Substance Use: I'm fine with drinking as long as you're not an alcoholic. I don't drink that often myself, but that's mainly because I don't much care for the taste of alcohol. Anything else is a no in my book, both as an asthmatic and because of my personal experiences and beliefs.

Children: I'm childfree and have had surgical sterilization. I don't want human children in any capacity. I don't want children of my own, I don't want to foster or adopt, and I don't want to be a step-parent to your children, so if you have or want children, this isn't going to work out.

Pets: I do have a dog and would like to have at least one more in the future. She is a hound and she does not get along with cats. She also deserves someone who is just as excited about being a part of her life as they are about being a part of mine. She and I are a package deal.

Religion: I'm not religious or spiritual in the slightest, and it works out best if you feel the same way.

Entertainment: When I'm looking for a way to pass the time, there are of course your typical streaming services which I subscribe to. However, I'm also up for board games, puzzles, video games, or even a game of go fish. I'd like to live in an area where it would be more feasible to take my dog for walks regularly because I currently live in a neighborhood with heavy traffic and no sidewalks and it's just not convenient. I also love theme parks and the escapism of walking through the gate and being in a world where all of the bad stuff just disappears for a while. I've even thought of moving to Florida one day to be near quite a few of them. I'm just not sure I could deal with... Florida, heh.

Shows: Most recently, in the midst of spooky season I've been watching Rod Serling's original Twilight Zone series, and I watched all of Courage the Cowardly Dog, the latter of which I hadn't seen since I was a kid. I watched Schitt's Creek last year and liked it more than my first watch attempt (which ended in failure, I'll admit). I also finished the original version of The Wonder Years, which was another good one. I'm also caught up on Grey's Anatomy. It's not my favorite, but I've invested too much of my life to not see it through to the end. Oh, and I watched How to Get Away with Murder in the last couple months. I wasn't very into that one. Other shows I like include The Golden Girls, ER, Veronica Mars, Fruits Basket, Steins;Gate, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Trinity Blood, Dead to Me, and 13 Reasons Why.

Movies: As an artist, I have a big appreciation for animation. Don Bluth, Tim Burton, Disney, Studio Ghibli, DreamWorks back when they still put out 2D feature films, Pixar, Rankin-Bass (who made the stop-motion Christmas movies with puppets) they're all great! However, I do also like live action movies (say no to Disney live action remakes—they're just not good) like Coyote Ugly, She's All That, Saving Mr. Banks, Dead Poet's Society, Why Did I Get Married?, Mean Girls, Good Morning Vietnam, the original Miracle on 34th Street, Beetlejuice... Oh I watched The Help a couple weeks ago and it was really good, too! I'm also a fan of musicals like The Sound of Music (Julie Andrews is a legend, let's be real.), Dear Evan Hansen, Legally Blonde: The Musical, Hairspray, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie, and Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.

Video Games: I pretty exclusively play my switch right now. I'm not a PC gamer at all. I'm actually super excited for the Animal Crossing update on November 5! I've also enjoyed Paper Mario: Origami King, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Pokemon Shield!

Music: I tend to listen to a lot of soundtracks and also a lot of what's on the radio. Not a huge country or rap fan, but every once in a while a song will catch my interest here or there. Lately I've been listening to some of Taylor Swift's latest stuff and I recently discovered Jack Savoretti. I also apparently like Ingrid Michaelson a lot more than I realized.

Aaaand just to reiterate:

Dealbreakers:

  • You partake in smoking, tobacco, vaping, or 420.
  • You have cats.
  • You have children, want children, or think you might want children in the future.
  • You don't like dogs.

P.S. While I do like to keep a sense of anonymity by not posting a photo of myself publicly, I am more than happy to exchange selfies in private!
