Hi there fellow redditors!

I just recently joined this sub in hopes of trying to find a special connection with someone. And hopefully, we can see where things will go from there.

Here's a little bit about me:

- First of all, I have a son. He's a very important part of my life. I know this can be a deal breaker for most people, so I like to start off with this so people are aware right away.

- I'm Asian-American. About 5'9" with an average/athletic build (The Pandemic White Rice = Dad Bod). But I've been actively working out and getting my cardio in for the last couple of months. I'm doing the Keto diet right now but plan to switch to CICO eventually once I've finished cutting. Being healthy and staying healthy is important to me. Here's me - https://imgur.com/a/j7tTpYB

- I'm kind of bilingual. I can speak enough Cantonese to get by, but can't read or write (Yes, I know I'm an ABC technically lol).

- I'm HUGE into Asian cultures, so I love watching Kdramas, Cdramas, Anime, etc. This includes their music too such as Kpop, Jpop, Cpop, etc.

- Did I mention that I'm a big fan of music too? I listen to music pretty much all day and every day, no matter what I'm doing unless I'm busy watching a show. Seriously, whether it's exercising, cooking a meal, or showering, I always have music playing! I like all sorts of music, not just asian stuff. R&B, Rock, Metal, Pop, some Country, not much Rap, EDM, and Smooth Jazz (Sorry Opera music, you're not included).

- I also am a huge gamer! Love to play a good old JRPG (mostly because I love the stories and character development). I have a PC, Nintendo Switch, and PS4. I used to play League of Legends, but that got really toxic, so I haven't played in years. I enjoy playing MMORPGs and Action RPGs instead now. I've also been big into mobile gaming in the past, but have toned that down quite a bit. (Does anyone ever feel like they just need more time in a day to do what they enjoy? I need more time! lol)

- I'm a big Disney fan too! Love all of the classic Disney movies. Some of my favorites are Aladdin, Mulan, Duck Tales (yes, the movie and the series), and Oliver & Company.

- Seems like I'm quite the homebody, right? You're right! I'm pretty introverted, but can socialize when needed to. I do enjoy going out for jogs and hiking! Or going kayaking while admiring the tranquil scenery in the middle of a lake. I also enjoy going out to the movie theaters to watch new movies (pre-pandemic). I also appreciate beautiful scenery, things like exploring new places would be fun with the right company.

- I'm not religious at all. I don't mind if you are, but please be respectful of the fact that this will not change for me. We can certainly talk about religion and I'll listen, but I won't change my views on religion. The same thing applies to Politics too.

- Oh, one more important fun fact about me: I LOVE SPICY FOODS! It's okay if you don't, but you're totally missing out, just sayin' :)

Personality:

I wish there was an easy way to describe my personality, but that wouldn't be fun would it? I can be a geeky dork at times. I enjoy lots of humor! I've got a pretty high tolerance for comedy, so I don't get offended easily. I also love getting into serious, yet deep and thoughtful conversations about anything. I like hearing both sides to a story and may even play devil's advocate at times just to spark up a friendly debate. However, this requires both parties to be open-minded and not easily offended if our views may differ. I can also be a sarcastic son of a bish at times.

I'm also really affectionate, compassionate, and loyal to the T. I like listening more than talking, so if you ever need to vent, I'm all ears. I don't judge -- none of us are perfect, and that's absolutely find. I'm far from perfect, but I'm aware of my own flaws and continuously work on them. I know what kind of person I want to be, and nothing will stop me from working towards that.

I wear my heart on my sleeves. Emotions are a huge part of all of us. I have them just like you do, and I embrace them instead of hiding them. I consider myself a pretty laid back person. I used to take life too seriously and always tried to plan everything, but as the years went by, I realized the importance of just enjoying each day to the fullest as you never know what may happen tomorrow.

Dealbreakers:

- Smoking, Drugs, and Weed. I don't do any of this, and I'd appreciate someone who also didn't. While I understand some people enjoy these things, they're definitely not for me.

- Alcohol. If you drink occasionally or socially, that's fine! If you're always intoxicated, that's a big no for me.

- Anti-vaxxers and Anti-maskers.

What I'm looking for:

- I'm looking for a life-long best friend/companion who will appreciate just spending time together. Someone who's compassionate and empathetic, and can communicate openly and transparently since communication in a healthy relationship is huge.

- Physical attraction definitely is important to me, but not as important as someone's personality. I like people who are healthy or are working towards becoming healthy (for themselves, not others).

- Someone who has common interests as me would be a plus, but not absolutely required. Opposites can attract. The most important part is that you're willing to dive into some of my interests as I would definitely be interested in diving into your interests as well even if they are not shared.
