Post Body

Hello! Prepare yourself for a detailed post meant to weed out those who aren't a good fit to save us both time.

I’m a Bisexual 31F from SoCal who enjoys reading a good story or watching a fun stream and telling my significant other all about it so they can also share in the excitement. I like sharing in the joys and spreading happiness around because I am invested in the well-being of those I care about. I try to better myself every day because I don't believe we ever stop learning or growing. I work as a research analyst for a mental health non-profit in LA and have learned that working with numbers is way better than working with people haha.

I am looking to start a fulfilling relationship with a person (M, F, 🌈NB, and 🌈T welcome). If you identify as ace, we won't be a good fit but I do hope you find your person!

About Me:

  • I am an outgoing introvert with a sense of humor. Dad jokes, improvisational humor, sarcasm, wit-word play, and a tiny bit of dark and self-deprecating humor are the types of humor I engage in. I enjoy teasing people without making fun of them.
  • Funny, caring, compassionate, logical, optimistic, mischievous, confident, assertive, observant, organized, and loyal are all words that describe me. I'm not big on lying (I struggle with keeping surprises a surprise), I tell it how it is (but I do try to soften how I say things), I mean what I say, am terrific at planning and thinking ahead, and I try to be flexible with plans. And sometimes, I goof around. But I am not much of a people person (no one would call me the life of the party).
  • I always try to push myself to the next level. I enjoy finding my limits and pushing past them. If I don't know how to do something, there is nothing stopping me from learning it. For example, I have taught myself how to use some data analytical software just because I wanted to advance in my career. And I enjoy hitting new PRs in the gym.
  • My preference in music is more in the realm of EDM but I also like pop and indie music. I enjoy music with quick beats and often listen to that when I work out.
  • I recently got back into running but have been weightlifting for years now. I enjoy going to the gym and I think it could be nice to have someone to go with and cheer each other on. Strength building for health and quality of life are more important to me than the aesthetic outcome (that’s just a bonus).
  • Thanks to my 11-month-old rescue, Arlo (Pitbull and Malinois mix), I spend a lot of time outside but genuinely enjoy going to new places and can’t wait once Arlo is more trained to explore new places again. But I also enjoy a good night in, watching a show/movie/stream.
  • I love Harry Potter (I have this area of trivia covered, haha), Marvel Universe (Black Widow and Iron Man are my favorite characters; Tom Holland is my favorite Spiderman), some DC, Star Wars, and Twilight, and I am a big fan of Scooby Doo, mysteries, and puzzles. Clue is my favorite board game, and I can get competative in Monopoly. Like everyone, I also play UNO incorrectly (according to them) but honestly, the 4 card really should be skippable when countered with another 4. I enjoy Dramas, Crime, Action, Psychological Thrillers, and Fantasy in my shows/movies/books. I love watching horror movies but shy away from slasher films. Gore isn’t my thing. Favorite holiday is Halloween. Then the Christmas season. I’ve always wanted to have an enjoyable Christmas season with my little family and even make corny Christmas cards to send out to our friends where we’re all in matching outfits.
  • Have three degrees in psychology (AA, BA, MS). While I enjoy learning about certain aspects of human behavior (decision-making is very interesting), I prefer working with numbers so my background is more analytical and centered around healthcare.
  • I do some casual gaming on my PS4, mostly RPGs and FPS like God of War and Call of Duty. I’m currently playing Black Ops 6 with friends, and I'm willing to play with you if you're interested. Heads up, I'm mid at best, but that doesn't stop me from having fun (and I'm not a camper or toxic, but I will curse if frustrated enough--I'm looking at you, Warzone).
  • Not religious (but supportive of those who are spiritual or religious), left-leaning politically, happily part of the LGBTQ community, am a sucker for cute animals, will sing in the car if I love the song that's playing, am willing to give you the last bite of food (that I saved because its the best piece), I avoid sad endings in movies and shows, love language is acts of service, not someone who does things a certain way just because that is how it has always been done, resistant to peer-pressure, and I try to meet people somewhere in the middle during conflicts. Us vs The Problem, not You vs Me.
  • Arlo and I both love cuddles and want someone else to cuddle with.
  • I am not a smoker, drug user, and barely a social drinker.
  • I want to run a 10K one day, travel more, practice my Spanish because I'm forgetting it (no one tell my mom because I’ll never hear the end of it😂), actually finish a short story I have started, jump out of a plane, learn to swim (I haven't gotten around to it), go glamping, try my hand at pottery, and so much more.
  • Physically, I’m 5’6” Hispanic, tanned, with brown eyes under the glasses, pixie-cut dark brown hair, one tattoo (I want more), and a little overweight (although I am actively working on slimming down a bit).

Are we compatible:

  • What I’m looking for is someone to talk to daily, who puts effort into getting to know one another, can banter back and forth a bit, and is serious about connecting with someone. Because this is online, transparency and communication are very important and I want to connect with people who are going to tell me what they’re thinking and feeling and are inquisitive about what I’m thinking and feeling and want to get to know me.
  • You need to have your act together, be financially responsible, have a job/career, be LGBTQ friendly, be a decent human being, be independent, emotionally mature, consistent, supportive, affectionate, honest, have a growth mindset, and be politically left-leaning.
  • You should mostly know yourself, and if you're part of the LGBTQ community, you should be "out." I'm too old to be with someone in the closet or who isn't being true to themselves.
  • Be dog-friendly. And cat friendly because those of you who hate cats for no reason are weird.
  • You should be someone who takes care of their health. I don't care if you're "chubby" or have a "dad bod." Do keep in mind I have an active working dog and I would like you to join us in our adventures. This requires at least a low level of physical activity. And I am happy to cheer you on if you're someone who is currently working on yourself 👏. We can go on chill walks together.
  • You would have to be willing to move to SoCal one day. I might be willing to move somewhere temporarily for the right person (1-2 years), but SoCal is the endgame. I'm too attached to the beach, the culture, the food, and the entertainment to leave forever.
  • I have a preference for those taller than me.
  • You aren't a smoker, a drug user, or a heavy drinker (I am 420-friendly so long as you're not smoking it as it gives me a headache-- edibles welcomed).
  • You are likely between the ages of 27-36, give or take a year or two for the right person if we really connect.
  • You don't have children (see below for an explanation).

Potential dealbreakers:
Honestly, I have no idea if I want children or not. Therefore, for those of you who are parents, it wouldn’t be fair to your child if I wasn’t sure about committing to them. I have great qualities that would make me a wonderful mother, but I am so burnt out from having parented adults during my childhood and young adult life that I don't know if I can commit to parenting children for the rest of my life at this moment. Maybe with the right person, this wouldn't be such an exhausting journey but right now I am on the fence, although I have always wanted a family since I was a child, having been neglected by my own. But for now, Arlo and a partner would be enough.

FYI, I would like to get another two dogs in the future (a Malinois or Dutch Shepard and a Doberman) and possibly a cat once I have a bigger place to accommodate them all 😅so hopefully that fits in your 5-year plan. Raising pets has not been as exhausting as raising people, apparently.

Some interests, hobbies, personality traits, aspirations, goals, dreams, or qualities should overlap. I think a good sign would be that if we could see being friends with each other, then it could be an indication of something more working out. Lastly, if we hit it off, I'd like to do voice chats on Discord and if that goes well, meeting up eventually would be important. In the meantime, we can chat on here. I am very active on my phone.

If any of this interests you, feel free to reach out with a meaningful introduction about yourself and willing to share a selfie when we connect. Just "hi" messages will be ignored.
