I’ll try (and fail) to keep this short! I’m looking for a cute, sensitive, intelligent girl who loves art - painting, music, literature, cinema, anything - and is also a giant nerd. I’d like to watch old anime from the 80s, 90s and 00s together. Lain, Utena, Nadia, Patlabor, Urusei Yatsura, that kind of thing. I’m a film nerd and ordinarily I watch all kinds of films - classics, foreign, arthouse, weirdo cult stuff, whatever - but lately I’ve been on a nostalgic anime binge and I’d like to fulfill my lifelong dream of having a nerdy girl to share it with. At first by watching together online, but eventually if we have the chemistry by getting together and doing it in person.

About me: I’m 6’1”, broad hairy dadbod, lift and hike sporadically. I’m a substitute teacher living alone in the suburbs with a little black cat and a little black dog. As mentioned above I love cinema, have an active Letterboxd and sometimes write about it professionally. I also play too many video games and do a little non-professional games criticism as well. I’m dilettantish in several overlapping areas within the general themes of philosophy, politics and psychology - like I can hold conversations with an Ivy League professor but probably couldn’t write a master’s thesis. I’m curious about more artistic ways to express myself but have always been a little reserved and anxious about it, which is part of why I’d love to befriend more creative people involved in the arts or academia and learn from their knowledge and process. I’m pretty shy irl but get vocal when it comes to topics I have strong opinions about (usually films, games, moral or political issues - and people close to me who need support).

I’d love to find some personal chemistry in this, if that’s in the cards. Women who are smart, sweet, introverted and a little dark tend to hotwire my heart. Typically “alt” and/or bookwormy types with active imaginations. Typing in complete sentences and having cute aesthetics rapidly get my attention. Hope to meet you soon!
