Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo!

Let's get some critical questions out of the way: first - do you also like to spend one day playing games or reading, and then spend the next on a long hike up a mountain? Second - are your politics and values to the left of the average democrat, but you still recognize that once the general comes around, it's blue no matter who? If yes to both, congratulations! You and I may be a good match! Oh, also, I'd prefer we be pretty close in age - plus/minus five years or so. The stretch goal is to find someone to settle down with, and if I find my partner on reddit... well stranger things have happened, haven't they?

My tastes in media are pretty firmly in the nerdy realm. For movies, if there's no Gandalf, lightsabers, or superheroes, I probably haven't seen it (only being slightly tongue-in-cheek). Books are pretty heavily focused on Fantasy, with some forays into SciFi. I play a fair few videogames, but most of them are like ten years old. Maybe someday I'll upgrade my PC so I can play BG3. Spotify wrapped informed me my top genres in 2023 were soundtrack, epicore, and power metal. That said, I've listened to more than 1800 artists and 72 genres over the past year, so there's lots of other stuff that gets playtime.

Getting outside is hugely important in my life, so I hope you're also up for a conglomerate of hiking, camping, and wider mountain shenanigans. In fact, if this isn't a shared passion, it's very likely a dealbreaker, even though I'm spending fewer words on it than my nerdery.

People have described me as a calming person, and I do my damndest to be empathetic and caring. Definitely take 'bleeding heart liberal' as a badge of honor rather than a pejorative. What are we here for, if not to make each other's lives more bearable? My sense of humor is pretty sarcastic, and possibly as dry as the Atacama.

Physically, I'm in alright shape, and I'm looking for the same. I go on the aforementioned hikes, and I do some home workouts, but I don't go to the gym or anything. Around 5' 11" tall and about 160 lbs, so that should give you an idea. Drop me an intro if you'd like a photo! Also, this seems as good a place as any to mention that I see regular sexual intimacy as a critical part of a happy relationship.

And now onto the reasons I'm posting in this sub:

1) Most relatable (at least on reddit?) - super introverted. Don't really go out much to meet new people, 'cause about 85% of the time I'm perfectly happy in the comfort of my own home or the quiet of the woods.

2) Kinda relatable - I've got some mental health struggles. Depression is the most consistent companion, but anxiety likes to show up from time to time (see point 4 below).

3) Less relatable for most people - I grew up in the house of a hoarder. I'm not one, but I'm way more comfortable with mess than a lot of folks.

4) And in true weirdo territory - I have a very odd relationship with food. It's technically an anxiety-based eating disorder (check out r/arfid if you're curious, or feel free to ask), but essentially this presents like I'm just super picky. If you're looking for someone to try new food with, I'm going to be a disappointment.
