I've been feeling a bit lonely lately, seeing friends get coupled and married, and thought I'd see what happens on Reddit. May be a total botch, but I thought I'd put together a list of facts about me.

1. I am 27 years old, 5'8" and weigh 170 lbs. I currently have a dad-bod that I'm working hard to get rid of. I live in the NJ, but close to the NYC area and am Chinese-american. If you want a picture of me, just ask!
2. I recently have gotten back into rock climbing, and have been trying to get into a consistent schedule. I currently boulder V2-3s, but I'm thinking of getting into top roping. Definitely looking for a climbing partner!
3. I love to cook. I'm definitely not a professional chef by any means, but I love trying new recipes. I haven't burned down any houses yet, so that's got to mean something
4. Anyways, I am the classic, bad at small talk, nerdy awkward introverted gamer. If you can drag me out, I become extroverted, until my social battery drains, and I dip out of the party to chill. Maybe bring me to my first rave 😂.
   
5. Be warned, I'm very nerdy. I like video games, manga, reading, D&D, etc. Honestly would probably prefer a chill night in playing games or watching a movie than going out. I'm also super into sci-fi and fantasy, especially magic.
6. I want to try new things! I'm not getting younger, and I want to do new things if possible, whether that is clubbing, going to more conventions, travelling, hiking, or sky diving. I think I've lived a pretty boring life to this point
7. Here comes the my insecurity dump. 😂 I'm generally a reserved guy, not one to open up to friends or family that much, so I've only been in one relationship that lasted a few months in college. Whether that's a green flag or red flag, that's up to you. Long story short, she ended up getting back with her ex and I was heartbroken about it. I've always held myself back from dating just because of my that and shyness self confidence issues, which I think comes from my lack of dating experience. But also, the fact that I feel weird that I don't have close friends to do stuff with besides playing video games online. I just find it hard to keep in contact with people if I don't currently work with them, or chat on discord. Sorry if this sounded like a therapist session lol, but thought I'd throw it out there.

What I'm looking for:

I don't mind if you're not into the same things as I am, but I am a nerd at heart. So I'm looking for someone who understands that and doesn't mind me binging a new game video games or spending a night reading. It's the main way I connect with my friends. But, having said that I also want someone to drag me out of my shell and experience the world.

I would prefer someone in my area as I want to try new things in person. Though, I will say I prefer texting over voice chats, but I won't mind getting on a call. I won't be responding to "hi", or something simple like that.

Maybe you can start off with your favorite dad joke (I love them), or favorite anything (book, anime, song, album, movie, TV show). Just want to know you're real and have a bit of a personality!
