At 35, I've been single for 10 years and the last time I was in love I was 19. I've missed all the developmental stages couples go through in their 20s, and I don't know how to catch up. I halfheartedly wish there was a service like the movie "Failure to Launch," a guy who could teach me how to date. I feel like without that training I'm a lost cause when it comes to love. I've forgotten how to feel chemistry, how to communicate, how to discuss boundaries, how to process my feelings. I never learned how to handle conflict or stick up for myself. No one is looking for a fixer-upper, so I feel stuck. I can't gain these skills without practice, but what guy wants to date me just for practice?
