Does anyone else take a while to open up to someone?

I feel like I have always taken a longer time than usual to open up and start trusting someone. It makes conversations harder and they usually end up ghosting me because I don’t seem interested. Is there a way to overcome this or maybe a way to tell someone so they will be patient.
