Hey y'all,
(Sorry if flair doesn't fit)
In the market for a truck, and I'm interested in this one. 1999 F-350 with the V-10 in it, 4x4 with 127000 miles on it. One owner truck. Only issue is the power locks don't work. Seller is asking 7500, truck prices are crazy in my state so it seems priced decently compared to others.
What are your thoughts? Are these reliable? I've heard good and bad on the 6.8. I understand the MPG will be shit but it'd only be used for utility occasionally.
Thanks!
The V10 is a fantastic motor, its nice and powerful, and you can use them as a tow pig. A little rough on gas tho. Also VERY reliable.
10th gen super dookies in general are really good, but the V10 is about 70% as reliable as the 7.π²
The only real issue with the V10 is the same thing all modular/triton Fords had, spark plugs getting yeeted into low earth orbit. Itβs about a $800 fix when that eventually happens, or you can helicoil it yourself for about $100 and a couple hours.
