Dealer says they can’t order the side airbag for the recall till I leave the truck there.

Dude on the phone had no clue there was a recall and said they wouldn’t even be able to order the part till they see it next month. Really just curious if he’s full of shit or not on the ordering part. It just seems silly if you have an active recall why you can’t order the part in advance?
