I just recently learned (really late to the party) that I could upgrade my the software in my wife's 2016 Escape so that it is compatible with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. After going through the steps online and downloading the VIN specific files to a USB drive, I was able to "successfully" update the software. While it looks like the unit is running the newer software, the information tab still shows version 1.0 as being its latest update. The last update date reported was correct for the day and time it was performed, but shows the year was 2000!
I attempted to use my Samsung with the unit and had no luck with Android Auto. I know that I need to replace the USB hub to make the vehicle work with Apple CarPlay but my understanding is that the Android version should work as is. Where should I go from here? Do I do a master reset and try again? Should I wait for the new hub before attempting any changes?
