Its the zetec S if that makes a difference? Theres a general vibration in the seat and the steering wheel at all times, but migrates to include the footwell and the brake pedal at 65-70, and seems more evident when letting off from 70 to 60. Ive tried using 4th instead of 5th gear and this does seem to prove its RPM dependant when between 2500 and 3000, instead of being a wheel balnce/bearing/axle issue. Id say it points towards failing engine mounts. The engine does have what id call heavier than normal vibration at idle, as in very visible, all the pipes on the front of the engine are clearly vibrating.
Is anyone familiar enough to confirm engine mounts combined with needing a new timing belt? Its done 73k miles but is over 10 years old and had no documentation of having it done, so its planned for as soon as I can afford it.
