Not really a rant but I wanted to talk about this regardless, and it'd likely get either removed from or downvoted on the main sub, so I'll come here.
There have been countless times where I call someone out on some form of toxic behaviour. Whether it's spamming moves, relying on the environment to net kills, etc. I usually get a response that just calls me salty and tells me to get good, but I'm not salty.
If someone is playing a broken hero, relying on spam and ledges and then emoting and spamming good fight in the chat like they're some unstoppable God, messaging them about it is valid. It's not being salty, it's being angry, which is justified by the fact that the toxic player provoked them.
If someone is playing fair, giving them a good fight and just generally being a cool dude, but the person they beat still messages them and says they were showing behaviours of the toxic player above, that's where they cross the line between anger and salt. If you're resorting to slander to back up your points in an argument, then you're salty. If you have a valid reason to complain, you're angry.
I enjoy making people salty, as do most players I'm sure. It's fun to see people get worked up over nothing. That's also the salt content I enjoy watching on YouTube, where the salty player has no valid reason to be upset. But if you're going out of your way to elicit a volatile reaction from your opponent (not just in For Honor, but in any game, really) they aren't the problem. You are.
I'd like to hear what people think about this and whether they agree or not, or maybe you think there's some kind of grey area in the middle. Whatever your stance, feel free to discuss the issue of Salt vs Anger below.
