So clearly I'm enjoying Football GM. I should be studying for finals right now, but I'll be fine.
To get to the point of the title, the Hall of Fame requirements seem to favor positions that amass more AV (I assume that's the main requirement). For reference:
428 total HoF inductees
247 QBs (57.7%)
69 WRs (16.1%)
47 DLs (11%)
46 TEs (10.7%)
13 OLs (3%)
3 RBs (0.7%)
2 LBs (0.5%)
1 S (0.2%)
0 CBs, Ks, or Ps
Obviously quarterbacks are more influential in a teams success, so them having a higher AV is as it should be. I also am pretty sure I read that u/dumbmatter got the formula from somewhere else, so I would imagine you aren't eager to mess with that. I do think that there need to be some value that better quantifies the contribution that kickers and punters especially make to the team. I recently had a punter retire after a 22 year career, where he was never lower than a 64 overall. That dude should for sure be in the Hall. I would think it's just an outlier that there have been 0 corners to make the hall in 100 years, but it does seem pretty strange. All in all, 88% of my inductees were on offense. That ratio seems too high to me. I wouldn't say I even have any better suggestions on a system of rating either, so this post may be entirely unhelpful. Either way, I found it interesting, and thought others might as well. I'm also happy to offer any other from this save file if anyone is curious.
Thanks for the fun game u/dumbmatter, keep up the good work!
