Hello, everyone!
I wanna jump straight into it and clarify what that title means. You see, I live in a country where people very, very rarely whip out their open-toed footwear. Maybe that's not the correct term, but that includes sandals, flip flops, slides and every other type of footwear that you usually wear without socks.
The thing is... it can get really hot in summer here. For example, it is 2nd of June today, and the temperature is gonna be close to 30 degrees Celsius. Yet, 95 % of women wear sneakers when they go out. I am mainly talking about younger women, so < 40 years of age, and the reason why I notice that is because I, of course, love seeing women wear open footwear. It's definitely one of the reasons why these warmer months are so attractive to me.
Basically, what I want is to hear your opinion in the comments. Do you think that women wear sneakers just because of comfort? Are flip flops and sandals really that uncomfortable to wear when you're gonna be wearing them for a couple of hours? Is it because women today just don't wanna "show their feet" in public?
I will say, even tho I live in a European country, I think this might be a bit of a cultural thing as well. I can't speak for other people, but in my household growing up, I was constantly asked why wasn't I wearing slippers and/or socks if the temperatures were under 20 degrees Celsius, even tho the temperature outside has nothing to do with the temperature inside the house.
In any case, I'm interested in hearing your opinions!
