Hello all,
We are struggling so badly right now. Over the last year, I have suffered 2 strokes, undergone heart surgery & several other minor ones. I also, had to stop working due to my health, which has declined rapidly. My husband is currently disabled and suffers from multiple medical conditions like: renal kidney failure, Diabetes, etc. Our youngest son just turned 9, and has Autism. He is our shining star through all of this darkness we are going through. He truly makes our lives better, brighter. This year, he starts 4th grade, and as we all know, kids can be very cruel. He already has so many things stacked against him, and it's hurting me so badly to think that he may also not have the things he needs for school. To me, that means I am a failure, because it's my place to provide them, and I can't. My job as his parent is to make his life easier, not harder, and somehow, I feel like I am letting him down. Our son is so awesome! He smiles, even when there isn't a thing I can find to smile about, and because of him I have become a better person. Please, please, if anyone can help us get the stuff he needs for school, we would be so grateful! Thanks for reading, and God bless!
Update: Thanks to some awesome people, my son has received, or will be receiving some of the items he needs so far.
These items are: hand sanitizer, crayons, school bag and lunch bag/box, socks, a jacket for the beginning of school weather, stress balls, and pencils.
He still really needs: 5 subject notebook, highlighters, a pair of shoes or sneakers that Velcro or slip on because he cannot tie still due to lack of coordination and motor skills, sweat pants because his are too small from last year and he cannot work jeans yet, and a few other items that are still on his list.
We truly appreciate everything that everyone is helping us with. You are all VERY AWESOME, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I will try to keep this updated. Thanks for reading again, and God bless!!!!!!
