Post Body

Hello! I'll be visiting LA for the first time and would love to hear some opinions on the places that I have selected below:

  • Guisados (Stew tacos, Taco sampler)
  • Sonoratown (Taco)
  • Broken Mouth (Hawaiian Korean fusion, Shrimp plate)
  • Marugame Monzo (Udon)
  • Fugetsudo (Mochi)
  • Tea Master Matcha Cafe (Matcha soft serve)
  • Millet Crepe (Crepe)
  • Bay Cities (Sandwich - get Godmother mixed peppers)
  • Kali (Californian)
  • République (Pastries/Brunch)
  • Grand Central Market
    • Donut Man (Strawberry donuts - if unavailable, tiger tails)
    • Ana Maria’s (Gordita)
    • Villa Moreliana (Carnitas)
    • Sarita’s (optional, Pupusas)
    • Broad St Market (optional, if its opened by the time we arrive, Lobster roll)
    • Eggslut (optional, Egg sandwich)
  • Teddy's Red Tacos (Tacos)
  • n/naka (Fine Dining)
  • In-N-Out (Fast Food)
  • Sun Nong Dan (Galbi jjim)
  • Langer’s (Pastrami - #19)
  • Holbox (Taco)
  • Howlin’ Rays (Hot Chicken - order ahead)
  • Bavel (Middle Eastern)
  • "Taco/Burrito Walk" on Olympic:
    • 9am-6pm, Mariscos Jalisco (Tacos de camarones)
    • 8am-3pm, Tacos Y Birria La Unica (Chivo taco dorados)
    • 10am-10pm, Tacos Guera (Suaderos and Al pastor tacos)
    • 11am - 6:30pm, Burritos La Palma (Birria de res, Bean and cheese, Chicharron)
  • Smorgasburg (only on Sundays, won't be able to make it this time but just adding to the list)

I hope to visit all the above during my time around central LA. Let me know if there is any must-visit place that I'm missing in my list. I would also appreciate any additional foodie tips/advice!

Update: Thank you so much for the responses! I have taken some time to go over the comments and have made the following changes based on your suggestions.

  • Removed: Mercado, Kang Ho Dang Baekjong, Hae Jang Chon, MUN Steakhouse, Jjukku Jjukku, Sari Sari, Mitsuru Cafe, Tacos Tumbras a Tomas, Fat & Flour, Girl & The Goat, Kato
  • Added: The Taco/Burrito Walk, Smorgasburg, Bay Cities, Teddy's Red Tacos, Guisados, Holbox, n/naka, Donut Man, Tacos Tumbras a Tomas, Villa Moreliana, Ana Maria’s, DwitGolMok, Dan Sung Sa, Yang Chow, mogumogu

Also, I would have loved to do the full Taco/Burrito Walk but unable to do so due to timing and transportation issues on my end. Based on the operating hours, its best to do this around lunch hours. I have planned to visit at least two in the morning.

On the side note, I would also like to point out that it would be difficult for me to get to a few of the suggested places as I will mainly be getting around LA in Ubers/Lyfts so most places on this list are within areas of interest from my itinerary.

I will continue to update the list regularly, until finalized.
