TW vomit and existential dread(?)

okay so pretty self explanatory. its 11PM, im craving something new, i order malatang (chinese hotpot soup thingy) on ubereats because its the only place open. i get it, i lift the spoon to my mouth with just a little to taste it, and as soon as the spoon touches my lips, i think “hm that’s way spicier than anything i had, oh well”. i go to grab my trusty sweetened almond milk, when, oopsie, it feels like i’m trying to breathe with 3 ping pongs jammed in my throat and someone’s grasping my oesophagus. i end up wheezing just enough to open my oesophagus to vomit, and vomit froth for 5 minutes while my ex calls an ambulance mid-panic attack.

i am in the er now, i had them ask me 5 times if i just have a bad spice tolerance and i just have to reiterate that i put spicy on my fkn ice cream, its really not that. i have had so many different chinese foods, my ex is cantonese and shanghainese so i literally have no idea what else it could be.

could it be the szechuan pepper in it? the vinegar? idk im just sad because the soup looked so good :(

(ps im aware szechuan makes your mouth feel numb, but this…. it was not just numbness, my life flashed before my eyes)
