Trouble with television...[TW]

I'm completing day four of a new life...one where I eat and exercise in my body and mind's best interests. Or, that's the plan. Today was the hardest day yet and I realized I'm facing some unique challenges. First, my house is definitely a safe place where I don't have accessible junk. I know that I can't even justify buying low fat/low cal versions of my trigger foods because I'll never be able to stick to the actual serving size. So, I've got that covered. But the problem is...it's not like it's hard to go out and get it. Less than a quarter mile away is 7-11 and ... everything I could ever want to snack on.

So, the unique challenge I'm facing is being triggered by certain shows. I know I can't watch Gilmore Girls because of how/what they eat, but I just realized that The Simpsons, my favorite show of all time, is a trigger. I just heard Homer chomping on some chips (my kryptonite) and...I felt it, I felt the craving so physically, in my stomach. Ah, it's welling up again just typing about it, thinking about how I considered how easy it would be to just...sneak out to the 7-11. It wasn't even an hour ago that I finished a good, full dinner and I felt satisfied, but we know that this struggle isn't about feeling satisfied. It's so much more.

So much of Homer's character is binge eating, and I fear that I'm going to have to give up the show. Does anyone else deal with television triggers?
