I want to connect my Logitech Z-2300 THX 2.1 PC speakers (standard 3.5 mm plug) to the R and L line outputs on the back. I want to keep the front headphones monitor output on the Scarlett free for using headphones. I don't have space on my desk for any sort of studio monitors, or I would go down that route instead. Will the following adapter cable do the trick properly, or am I likely to run into any sort of problems? Am I missing something that's not obvious to me? I'm a bit worried that I don't find the word "splitter" in the product description (Googled a few forum posts that said PC speakers require a splitter cable), but I know next to nothing about these technologies.
My goal is to record rock/metal guitar and bass, if that matters.
