Should our tax dollars be used to help corporations to profit millions? Our tax dollars funded the research to make the COVID vaccine (it’s like giving a stranger $5 and then giving them $20 again)

So your point is that if anyone anywhere used a government dollar to think about something there should be no further development by corporations because it’s not allowable for them to bring it to market?

[not loaded or deleted]

Yeah. Let’s stop them from doing any of that.

The government developed gps. If no one is allowed to profit from it you wouldnt have one in your car.if they aren’t ALLOWED to profit from it you COULDNT have one in your car. The gov isn’t installing Alexa in your VW.

Let’s try it and see how quickly we get new medicine?

So you’re heavily invested in Cuba? How do I get in on what you’ve got?

[not loaded or deleted]

How many private dollars were spent? Just so that your argument appears balanced and informed?

Strikes me that shareholders have some say on what is appropriate. In the absence of regulations it’s just shouting opinions at the wind. This is a “fluent in finance” sub, after all. Buy enough Moderna stock to tell the rest of the shareholders to limit their own best interests or elect regulatory friendly leaders but don’t expect anyone to do the “right thing” by anyone other than their shareholders. That’s who they work for. Corporations are owned by we the people and profiteering is good for retirement funds with exposure to those assets.

I agree. I don’t understand you at all. First it was corporate greed. Now profits are ok within a given ratio. Please elaborate

[not loaded or deleted]

So your issue is with cost ratios? Are you the authority on what’s “enough”? I’m so confused by your lack of consistency.

Or is it ok to productise delivery? I don’t get your complaint? Huge industry is being generated around public funding! I thought we were railing against profits made on our dollars? At the very least we should be paid no?

[not loaded or deleted]

I’m supporting you

Your assertion is that any public dollars preclude any degree of private dollar profits. I say fuck it let’s give it a go. See what brilliant new products public money brings to market.
