Post Body

Just an update on Matthew McCoy, who I think we're in the driver's seat for, and some roster considerations based on Dean staying. All good things.

Georgia Delenda Est.

I. McCoy

I've written before about Matthew McCoy, 6-6, 285 out of St. Augustine. Per his tweet below, he is down to 6 schools: UF, Miami, UCF, Minnesota, Maryland, and MSST. UF has been recruiting him hard and he we are the clear leader for him based on what I've seen. As of now we only have 1 HS commit coming in at his position of OT (3* David Conner) and we are extremely likely to get O'Cyrus Torrence in the portal*.

*Note that Torrence picked up an offer from MSU today.

II. Other Thoughts

Trey Dean coming back was surprising news. We have already offered 5* Jacoby Matthews at the same position as well as 3* Miguel Mitchell. It was also widely thought that Mekhi Williams-Garner who entered the portal from ULL the same day or close to it as Torrence was planning to follow Napier here. The thing is, to my eye, we're pretty good at that position (unless we shuffle folks around). Will be interesting to see what impact Dean staying has. Note that both Torrence and Mitchell are set to visit on the 1/14 bonanza weekend.
