If you thought WR brought up some controversy, hold on your butts. CB is by far the hardest to narrow down. Don't come at guys, I'm going off of stats here. And as many of you have pointed out, yes there are multiple of each of these positions on the field. I am taking 2 and three of these platers at certain positions like WR and CB. I did not want to twll you that, because i wanted to get everyone to vote for who they believe to be the best. I dont want people voting out of sympathy for someone just so they make the second or third place spot.
Also, yes some of these guys plated both CB and S. I chose the ones with the best CB stats. There is a possibility they will show up on the safety list too, but UF's Safety are astoundingly accomplished so keep that in mind
As these polls go on, I recognize that some players will be left out. That is going to be apparent with some positions like middle linebacker, wide reciever, and corner back. With a history of great players in these positions, statistics can only bring us so far. There is the subjectiveness of awards they recieve and of nominations for awards. Because of this awards are the last thing considered when ranking the top 6 statistical players of all time at any given position.
Additionally, we must all acknowledge that the game has changed and the responsibilities of positions have changed with it. I tried to include that into my analysis.
Furthermore, some of you asked about coaches and schemes. The coaches will be the last thing we vote on. I understand that some people might take issue with that, but hear me out. We aren't picking a team that is going to play a game. We are picking a team to represent the best individual players. The same goes for the coaches. Carlos Alveraze may have never been recruited by Urban Meyer, that sort of subjectivity is a discussion all its own.
Wednesday's winner was Reidel Anthony. Your WR corps (not including the x-factor /wildcat position) is Reidel Anthony (112 votes) Jabar Gaffney (102 votes) and Dallas Baker (86 votes)
I enjoy the discussion going on in the comments. There has been virtually no toxicity and everyone appears to be having a good time
Now without further delay, here are the six statistically best CBs to play at the University of Florida
