Hey there! I am a 25M and yesterday an old friends (27F) mom reached out to me on Facebook. I knew her daughter 2 years ago but had lost contact with her. I never met the mom but she had sent me a friend request on Facebook 2 years ago after her daughter told her mom that we were in the same line of work.

Anyways yesterday I liked her moms photo on Facebook and she sent me a FB message asking if we had met before. I told her that we had not but that I used to know her daughter and that we were in the same line of work. She then asked me if I still talked to her daughter and I said we had lost touch.

I then asked her what made her decide to reach out and she said that it was because I liked her photo. I told her “I’ve liked other posts before too lol 😉” and she said “I don’t always check - but I had a few minutes 😉” and “Glad to “meet you” Let’s grab coffee sometime & talk __(the industry we work in)”

I then told her to send me her phone number. And after she did she sent “Give me a ring next week & let’s pick a day/time”. She proceeded to send me her office’s Holiday party invite(it’s an industry where connections matter a lot).

Seemed liked she was flirting with me but then she went all professional on me at the invite to her office party. Do you agree that it seems strictly professional or that I am over thinking it?
