Looking up comps, I found this seller's wall of text. The description of the actual item for sale is very thorough (3rd paragraph), so I've got to him props for that, although imagine the time it must take to describe all items in that much detail. But the rest of it, wow:
The post office seems to have recently taken WEIGHT into greater account when calculating rates, and even at $9, I lose money on ALL but the lightest-weight garments. My NEW POLICY is to refund the buyer for the difference between $9 (or $18 or $27, etc.) and the ACTUAL COST of insured Priority shipping, if it's less than those amounts, including multiple items purchased and sent at the same time.
I try to price eBay items aggressively so they sell quickly, but I have learned over time that my estimation of what a bargain price should be can be faulty. So my plan of action is to list items on eBay for what I believe is an attractive price based on research of a particular designer, or even my remembrance of what motivated my wife to collect a specific article of clothing or shoes, with a few pieces of designer jewelry included as I come across them. If they don't sell within a week or so, I intend to lower the price by $1, $5 or even $10, with that pattern repeated till one of the loyal "watchers" becomes a valued buyer. So if an item appeals to you but is priced too high for your budget, please keep watching "adorned" and we may meet in the middle! It's been a few weeks since i listed this item, so I'm reducing the starting BIN price of $39 by $19 for now. If they don't sell at this price, I'll give them to my local charity sometime next year.
I couldn't find a size tag on these pants, and the black napa leather isn't stretchy at all, so I'm calling them a 1X, though I just saw an Ashley Stewart size chart that places them at 2X. In any case, please check ALL measurements below to make certain that they will work for you! The materials and care tag reads "100% Genuine Leather" with a 100% black Polyester lining and recommends "dry cleaning using the leather method," whatever that is! (I know it exists!) The circumference of the unstretched waist is roughly 38", or 40" around when the leather-covered elastic waistband in back is fully extended, meaning that the measurement between the side seams is 19" and 20" respectively. There is a sturdy chrome-plated steel closure at the left side of the waist, which is a 3/8" wide flattened hook paired with a matching bar that the hook slides into. The concealed regular-duty zipper is roughly 7" long. The pants' circumference at the hips is approximately 52" - with virtually NO stretchiness - or 26" across from side seam to side seam. There are NO pockets. The inseam is about 29" long and the overall length down the side seams is roughly 41". The openings of the pant legs have a diameter of 9" and a circumference of 18" at the sewn hems, and there are NO slits in these hems. The full lining extends all the way down to the bottom of the pant legs, but the black Polyester lining is hemmed separately, just above the leather hem. As you can see in the photographs, there are TWO standard horizontal seams in each pant leg, below the crotch area and below the knees.
This item has been stored in a climate-controlled location and is in perfect condition. Insured USPS Priority Mail shipping is $9. I have NOT had any complaints about shipping delays, and I'll send the buyer an active link to the USPS tracking number, which seems to have been improved in terms of accuracy. IMPORTANT NOTE: I don't own a vehicle, preferring to get around on a mountain bike and the CapMetro bus system servicing Austin. In the extremely unusual circumstance where the 7-day forecast of icy winter weather prevents sending your package within 3 business days, I'll write you the day of the purchase and refund your money immediately if you wish. Rain alone is NOT a problem here in the Hill Country because my Kelty pack has a raincoat!
NOTE REGARDING RETURNS: We have never accepted returns, because we have always made it a point to carefully inspect our eBay items and describe them accurately, including the fact that I do NOT use WD-40 oil or Graphite in the padlock of my "photo backdrop!" (The lock is not always visible in the photos, but this is an important issue to me, so I don't want to risk any misunderstanding!) Although the eBay Buyer Protection Policy may allow you to attempt to return any of our items, please be advised that we carefully document and photograph all of our items from all angles. We're not trying to be mean to anyone, but on two occasions in the distant past, buyers have used items and then intentionally damaged them - attempting to return them - which is not fair to me, the poor seller!
