But I got a return request today. I shipped a BCGBMaxAzria geometric print dress last week. The buyer initiated a return with the reasons "Wrong dress" and "Other: Wrong material."
WTF? I only shipped one item that day, and it was in fact the dress that was ordered (I checked my inventory: the dress is not still in my house). And if for some reason I did send the wrong dress, what's up with the "wrong material" statement?
I responded and asked her for photos of the item she received. So far, no response, but I'll give it a couple of days.
The label on the dress said 98% polyester and 2% spandex, and that's what I listed in the item details.
I'm sure she has buyer's remorse and doesn't want to pay shipping, but I'm gonna (for the first time) deny this return and call eBay.
The funny thing is, the dress weighs 6 oz, so it's not like the return shipping is pricey.
What worries me is that she's gonna provide a photo of some random crappy dress and return it to me ... and keep the dress I sent her.
Oh, well. Not the end of the world, even if I do have to take it up the ass on this one. But it pisses me off anyway.
[edit] Thanks, everybody. I'm over it now (next morning). I wasn't completely enraged because I've heard about buyers doing worse things with returns -- things that cost some people a lot of money and/or a hassle with eBay. In the grand scheme, the return I'm dealing with is minor.
I bet I could win this case if I wanted to call eBay. The reasons the buyer gave for the return don't make sense when taken as a whole, so they are probably just angling for free return shipping.
As of right now, the buyer has not responded to my request for photos and more information.
