Marketplace price increase strategy?

Seeing a dude that sells furniture on FB. His strategy seems to be to increase price every few days. I know changing price helps because it notifies anyone who has shown interest previously. But this dude had some chairs listed 4 weeks ago for $165 that were not selling, and now they are up to $229 lol. When I flip stuff on Amazon, I drive down price if it hasn't sold after x weeks (unless it's a specific long term hold)
