Extremely low FPS on Series X (XSX)

Have so far only experienced this in Patagonia (flying south) but I seriously doubt that has anything to do with it. Not sure why, but I’m randomly getting like 2-3 FPS. Sometimes I’ll take off (tried a few different planes and times of day) and everything will be fine. Others, it will start to lag shortly after take off and then recover. Still others start to lag and never get back to normal. I’ve tried turning off live players and set the weather to clear skies to see if that helps. It does not. This is the only game that I experience any low FPS issues.
