EDIT: Fixed it finally by installing it via the microsoft/windows store app (even though its the "included with gamepass" version, its like it couldn't reacquire the licence through gamepass but managed it through the store app, go figure. They still haven't implemented background updates so still the rigmarole of start app, see if the latest update tops 100 gigabytes, leave PC on overnight etc...Get this sorted please Microsoft / Asobo....
Hi, so last machine was a 5800X, new machine is a 7900X with a 4090.
Been trying to get flight simulator to reinstall for days on end now to no avail.
So far I've been through the troubleshooting guides and short of reinstalling windows i've tried virtually every suggestion. Whenever I try to download the game it says queued, downloading, queued, downloading, error
Other games from gamepass download and work as expected. Deleted contents of software distribution folders, the Flight sim download cache folder contents, made sure various services are running, reset windows store several times, rebooted machine and it still won't cooperate. This is one of the times I REALLY hate the gamepass app, its like its purposely awkward just......because.
Its running on Windows 11 Pro, drivers all updated also
Any suggestions? As I'm at a loss as to whats going on, I'm guessing its seeing the previous install (given other apps reinstalled from local directories without issue or complaint) but for some reason its not happy - some flag of "folder not empty"?, corrupted file?
Any help greatly appreciated as this is just winding me up, I know I'm missing something just dont know what exactly yet....
