Should I have breakfast before or after workouts?

I usually have eggs and toast with veggies or oatmeal protein with fruits. I want to lose a bit of fat and gain more muscle (buff up again). Should I do that before or after my workout? Or should I drink a protein shake before the gym and then have breakfast afterwards?

I always eat a small amount of carbs before heavy lifting, I love an English muffin for example. This changed the game for me in energy levels/power…able to go heavier and longer!
