I was thinking about HR and his place in the show, and something dawned on me.
HR is a man from a technologically advanced version of Earth who decided to make a name for himself saving the world by abandoning his with an armful of gadgets. He also has a massively optimistic attitude and never takes anything too seriously.
Really all you need to do at this point is change the "parallel universe" to the future, and you have almost the exact same backstory as Booster Gold. I really would not be surprised to see HR Wells start to slip into the mantle of hero as the episodes go on before eventually assuming the title.
