This is something I've encountered a few times and want to know if there is a better way to handle it.
I do VA work and some of my clients can be a little pushy. My minimum delivery time is 3 days, but I do give the option for rushed delivery......for a fee of course. I have a few clients who will order a short script (less than 300 words), and then a day into the order message me saying they need it within 12hrs or something to that effect. I will generally message back and reaffirm to them that my delivery time is 3 days unless they order rushed, which I see that they didn't. I then offer to add the fee for rush delivery, and remind them that unless it is marked "rushed" I cannot promise it will be done before the 3 day timeline. 9 times out of 10 they will just message back "okay" and then bug me about it the next day asking for the delivery, to which I tell them that it will be done by the allotted time. Usually for these, I will go ahead and provide multiple takes of the script in separate files as a sort of compromise, that way they don't have to wait for retakes since they apparently have such tight deadlines.
With some of these scripts, I could feasibly get them done sooner than the 3 days, but I worry that giving in to their request once or twice will set a precedent for them to continue asking for rushed orders without paying.
Should I be wording my replies differently?
